A pair of extraordinary and extremely rare original Art Nouveau hand-painted leather panels mounted on wooden stretchers. These are painted in oils, with the most beautiful patterned gold gilding added in some areas. Elaborate, romantic and very evocative.
They are quite a large size and may originally have been made for a piece of furniture. They are from around 1890, and beautifully done.
Very good size—each panel is about 33 * 83 cm, about 13 * 32.5 inches.
These are in good condition for their age (please ask for more pictures if you would like to check details of condition before purchase). We found them in Prague and they are probably Czech or German.
Price is for the pair (they shouldn't be split up!) . We will ship insured.
