Antique so-called "milliners model" doll. Presented in wooden box with glass front. This is a doll from about 1840. and is all original with a lovely "spaniel's ear" hair style.
This style of doll has a painted papier mache head (in ours, in great condition) with wood and leather used for the body, arms and legs. As they are typically delicate because of the papier mache, they are rare. Fortunately, we think this one has been in its box for a long time, so has been well protected and is in unusually good condition.
