These are antique pieces probably from around 1910/1920 and probably English.

They are "hair stars" - used with a fine hair pin as a hair ornament (you put the hair pin of  your choice through the two small tubes at the top back and then fasten into your hairstyle). It makes for a really fabulous hair ornament. Please note that the fastenings have small diameter holes so you will need a thin "grip" with straight sides - or the stars can perhaps be sewn on to a larger grip.

Older paste jewellery like this is now becoming very collectible.

They are in lovely, wearable condition. We have two of these so please choose whether you would like one or both - we have given a discount on the pair.  We think one is ever so slightly less "white" on some of the stones than the other - it was probably worn more. However, this really is slight and won't be visible when they are worn. It also has a small mark on the back - which of course wouldn't  be visible, so we show this only for completeness.

  • Just over 3 cm across (1.3 inches).
  • Large, paste stones of lovely quality.
  • Probably "German silver", which is an alloy made to look like silver, or perhaps 800 silver.
