Lovely dinner plate in one of the more hard-to-find Ashworth's Chinoiserie patterns. Featuring peonies. This is heavy ironstone and early - we think most likely from around 1870-80.

This beauty is hand-painted (every one is slightly different!) and has areas of gold gilding. In great condition for its age. We have quite a large quantity of this pattern in different sizes. If you would like to buy a set, please contact us for prices and availability.

Sourced from a mansion in Ireland.
_______________

In 1862, George Leach Ashworth acquired all the patterns, copper plates and trade marks from the renowned Mason's Ironstone. The designs were then issued under the name of Ashworth's Ironstone and became a fashionable china for the aspiring middle classes of the 19th century.
