We were fortunate enough to buy three large unused rolls of the most glorious pure silk fabric in an auction in England a while ago. It came from a fashion company that had closed down. It's very fine quality silk and we think probably from the 1990s.
This is a fine semi-translucent silk, almost a chiffon (though slightly less transparent than most silk chiffons) with a beautiful woven striped pattern. It is a pale cream colour and has a border in a gold woven pattern, which can be used "as is" on the fabric or of course cut off to be used separately on your projects.
We are selling it by the metre, but if you buy more than one metre, we will cut in a continuous piece. The fabric is 109 cm wide.
We are using these silks for costumes for our Bohemian Cats' Theatre Tarot series, but we have far too much. So we're offering some of them here at a bargain price (our "compare at" price is the price we think these would currently retail for) and hope you will enjoy making something wonderful from them.
