He is carved wood with a well-modelled plaster (and real hair!) head. He is beautifully costumed and painted. The detail is really good, so the maker was obviously very skilled. The clothes, which are very well done, seem to all be original. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eA good, fairly large size to display - about 20 inches or 51 cm tall, excluding the hanging wire.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003ePlease note that this is a genuine antique piece and the painted parts and fabrics show their age, though they are generally  in very good condition for a puppet of this age. The top of the drum is split and could do with  repair.
