Victorian pique hoop earrings. Gold and silver on antique tortoiseshell.
A gorgeous pair of pique hooped earrings. These really pretty and striking. They are mid-Victorian (probably around 1860-80) and on newer gold wires (we think this is 9 ct gold). These have probably been made out of more complex earrings but in fact look really great as they are.
You can see the kind of original design that these may have come from on, for example, this Etsy listing (not our listing!):
The pique work is made of silver and gold and shines out beautifully against the tortoiseshell.
Please note that there are some very slight chips on the back of these. You won't see that when they are worn. Price reflects this and is a bit of a bargain for these good-sized pique earrings.
